Mitchell makes World of Outlaws feature appearance at Boothill
On Friday, Jon Mitchell journeyed from his Texarkana, Texas, home base to Greenwood, Louisiana’s Boothill Speedway to race with the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Model Series. He posted a strong showing in the 42-car Bayou Classic, culminating with a feature start.
To open the evening, Mitchell qualified his W&W Timber No. 5 Super Late Model 16th in his group. He then fell short of an automatic transfer into the night’s $15,000-to-win main event through his heat race, but mounted an eighth-to-third charge in his Last Chance Showdown. That result put him 21st on the grid to begin the 50-lap feature on the quarter-mile oval.
He ultimately came home in the 21st position.
