Mitchell races to 5th-place finish at 67 Speedway of Texarkana
From Thursday through Saturday, Jon Mitchell climbed aboard a USRA Limited Modified to participate in the Mike Parker Memorial/Alan Roy Memorial at 67 Speedway of Texarkana in Texarkana, Arkansas.
In Thursday qualifying, Mitchell clocked the seventh-quickest time in his group on the quarter-mile track, then went on to finish first and fourth in a pair of Friday heat races. He picked up three positions from his starting spot in each race, putting him fourth out of 43 cars in passing points and locking him into Saturday’s main event.
Mitchell started from the fourth position in the 35-lap, $10,035-to-win feature and brought home a fifth-place result, following Chase Hatton, Kris Jackson, Corey Neil Jr. and Kale Murphrey under the checkered flag.
