Jon Mitchell takes on CCSDS Clash at the Mag
The 2024 COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) season roared back to life on Friday and Saturday with the Clash at the Mag at Magnolia Motor Speedway. Jon Mitchell was part of the action throughout the weekend at the 3/8-mile track in Columbus, Mississippi, competing in nearly 50-car fields each night.
On Friday, Mitchell turned in a third-place result in his heat to automatically transfer into the night’s 30-lap, $5,000-to-win A-Main. Mitchell began the feature from the 14th position aboard his Parker Truck Repair No. 5 Super Late Model and turned in a 19th-place result.
The next night, Mitchell struggled early, finishing eighth in his heat and 15th in his B-Main. However, he used a series provisional to start 24th in the $12,000-to-win finale. Mitchell charged forward an impressive 13 spots in the 50-lapper to end the evening in the 11th spot.
After the Clash at the Mag, Mitchell is fifth in CCSDS points.
