Jon Mitchell completes 2025 campaign at The Dome
On the first weekend in December, Jon Mitchell was part of a whopping 123-car Super Late Model field in the ninth annual Gateway Dirt Nationals. The event at The Dome at America’s Center closed out his solid season.
Mitchell competed in the Thursday prelim night at the 1/5-mile indoor track in St. Louis, qualifying a strong fourth in his group. He went on to score a third-place finish in his heat race aboard his No. 5 Super Late Model. He started on the pole in his B-Main, but finished fifth, meaning he came up two positions shy of a transfer into the night’s 25-lap, $10,000-to-win feature.
On Saturday, Mitchell took seventh in his qualifier, ending his event before the night’s 40-lap finale paying $70,000 to the victor.
In 2025, Mitchell claimed one feature win. He also finished in the top five on six occasions and raced to 15 top-10 finishes.
