Podium result for Mitchell at TMS Dirt Track
Jon Mitchell joined the REVIVAL Super Dirt Series at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track on Friday to compete for a $2,500 winner’s share. During the first night of the POWRi Championship Weekend, he scored a third-place result.
Fifty-two Super Late Models were entered at the 4/10-mile clay oval on Friday, and Mitchell qualified an impressive second in his group to open his evening. He went on to both start and finish fourth in his dash race behind the wheel of his Keyser Manufacturing Co. No. 5 machine.
Mitchell rolled off from the fourth spot to begin the 25-lap feature and ran in the runner-up position for much of the race’s first half. He ultimately finished third behind Cade Dillard and Jake Nightingale. Kip Hughes and Shane Hebert rounded out the top five.
Mitchell did not take part in Saturday’s $4,500-to-win finale.
