Mitchell takes on Bayou Classic
Jon Mitchell continued his 2025 campaign over the weekend, competing against more than 40 Super Late Models each night in the Bayou Classic at Greenwood, Louisiana’s Boothill Speedway. The event at the quarter-mile clay oval was co-sanctioned by the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) and World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series.
Friday’s action saw Mitchell finish sixth in his heat race aboard his Team 5 Enterprise No. 5 Super Late Model. He went on to finish fifth in his Last Chance Showdown, meaning he missed the 30-lap, $10,000-to-win feature by just two positions.
On Saturday, Mitchell took 10th in his heat and 13th in his consolation race, ending his weekend in advance of the 70-lap finale paying $50,000 to win.
Mitchell finished sixth in the 2025 CCSDS point standings.
