Mitchell takes 7th in CCSDS Cow Patty 30
After nearly a month of rainouts for the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS), the tour hit the track on Friday to contest the $5,000-to-win Cow Patty 30 at Old No. 1 Speedway. Jon Mitchell came away from the Harrisburg, Arkansas, speed plant with a top-10 result.
A total of 36 CCSDS entries necessitated two qualifying groups at the quarter-mile oval in northeast Arkansas. Mitchell turned in the sixth-quickest time in his group aboard his Keyser Manufacturing Co. No. 5 Super Late Model. He went on to finish third in his heat race and began the 30-lap A-Main from the 10th position. He climbed three spots in the feature and came home seventh.
Saturday’s slated $5,000-to-win CCSDS show at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas, was canceled due to rain.
Mitchell currently sits seventh in the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series point standings.
