Jon Mitchell scores 5th-place finish at The REV
On Friday, Jon Mitchell traveled to The REV in Monroe, Louisiana, to kick off a two-track COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) weekend. However, when Saturday’s slated CCSDS program at Texarkana 67 Speedway was rained out, he stayed in Monroe and brought home a top-five result in The REV's weekly show.
As one of 25 CCSDS competitors at the 3/8-mile red-clay oval on Friday, Mitchell drove to a fifth-place result in his heat race. He started 13th in the 30-lap, $5,000-to-win main event and came home 11th in his Keyser Manufacturing Co. No. 5 Super Late Model. He is currently seventh in CCSDS points.
With Saturday’s planned trip to Texarkana, Arkansas, falling victim to Mother Nature, Mitchell competed among 13 Super Late Models at The REV on Saturday. He took the runner-up spot in his heat, putting him on the second row to start the $3,000-to-win feature. He slipped one spot in the 30-lap race to finish fifth behind Talan Willis, Tanner Kellick, Jade Luzenberg and Brandon Ball.
