Mitchell continues season with Bad Boy 98

Jon Mitchell returned to the seat of his W&W Timber No. 5 Super Late Model over the weekend for the two COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) shows making up the Bad Boy 98 at Batesville Motor Speedway. With 43 CCSDS competitors at the Locust Grove, Arkansas, track on Friday, and 42 on hand Saturday, Mitchell turned in top-20 finishes each night. 

On Friday, Mitchell grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot in his heat race on the 3/8-mile oval, starting him 14th in the night’s 30-lap, $5,000-to-win feature. He finished 13th.

Saturday saw Mitchell finish sixth in his heat, necessitating his participation in a B-Main. He took third in the consolation race and rolled off 22nd in the $12,000-to-win main event. He picked up six spots in the 68-lap race to come home 16th.

After the Bad Boy 98 weekend, Michell sits seventh in the CCSDS standings.
