Mitchell bags a trio of Top 5 finishes with CCSDS over Fourth of July weekend

Jon Mitchell was one of 31 Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) on hand at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Ark.) on Wednesday evening for the Hammer Hill Twin Bill. Posting the fastest lap overall in his group, Mitchell went on to pick up an 8-lap heat race victory, which positioned him second on the starting grid for the opening night feature. With $4,000 on the line, Jon suffered a broken rear-end while battling for the lead that sidelined him for the remainder of the evening.

On Thursday afternoon at Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, La.) for The Pelican, Jon secured his spot into the $4,000-to-win A-Main with a second place finish in his heat behind Kyle Beard. Passing one car in the 40-lap affair, Mitchell notched a fourth place finish behind Spencer Hughes, Terry Phillips, and Logan Martin with Morgan Bagley coming in fifth. The following night at Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas), Jon timed in fourth fastest overall before picking up an 8-lap heat race victory. Rolling off second for the main event, Mitchell fell three spots to register a fifth place finish behind Billy Moyer, Drew Armstrong, B.J. Robinson, and David Breazeale.

Wrapping up the Four-for-Four Firecracker Nationals on Saturday, Jon headed to Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, La.) for the $4,000 prize. Following a second place finish in his heat behind Billy Moyer, Mitchell gained one spot in the 40-lap feature to come home third behind Terry Phillips and Billy Moyer with Spencer Hughes and Hunter Rasdon rounding out the Top-5.
