Jon Mitchell sweeps Modified weekend at Texarkana and Timberline
Friday night saw Jon Mitchell hop behind the wheel of his W&W Timber No. 5 IMCA Modified entry for the Summer Frenzy at Texarkana 67 Speedway (Texarkana, Ark.). In a field of 20 cars, Mitchell jumped up three spots in his heat race to place third. Starting the feature in second, Jon outran Tyler Stevens to capture his third win of the season and a $1,500 payday. Stevens, Justin Whitehead, Donnie Barnhart, and Dustin Hyde trailed him to the checkers. (Price-Hill photos)
On Saturday evening at Timberline Speedway (Corley, Tex.), Mitchell rolled to his third win of the season and second in as many nights.
